Our last five-week Summer Session begins Monday, July 19 and runs through Saturday, August 21.
Following this session we are on Summer Vacation until September 13.
ALL Park District classes are held in the Body/Mind Studio of Dole Center at 255 Augusta in Oak Park.

Here’s the schedule for the last of Summer 2010:
Absolute Beginner’s Monday . 6:00 – 7:15 pm NOT Meeting This Session Class Will Resume Sept. 13
Wednesday . 7:30 8:45 pm NOT Meeting This Session Class Will Resume Sept. 15
This is where you should be if you have NEVER taken a yoga class! Each class will begin with a slow warm-up and gentle stretching. We emphasize proper breathing and coordinating breath with movement. We'll learn a variety of lying mat poses and simple standing poses. Portions of our routine are repeated from week to week, giving you the opportunity to relax into movements while you are becoming more proficient with them.
You may ABSOLUTELY take this class for as many sessions as you like! I encourage it! Become familiar with an accessible routine and watch your progress as you return to the same movements again and again -- until you are ABSOLUTELY at home with them. Start your yoga practice on the right foot -- get grounded in the basics.
This class is also appropriate for those preferring a less vigorous, less physically demanding style.
These classes are designed for those students who have begun their exploration of yoga and would like to learn more challenging poses. Please join us IF you have learned proper breathing techniques which encourage your muscles to stop gripping and allow your body to relax into postures. In these classes we cover more complicated mat poses, abdominal and core training, and basic standing postures. As various poses are mastered (according to YOUR individual ability), you will grow in awareness OF your body, in appreciation FOR your body, and in comfortableness IN your body. This, in turn, results in a more centered and calm state of consciousness.

Yoga For Men: Wednesday . 6:00 - 7:15 pm NOT Meeting This Session Class Will Resume Sept. 15
Looking for a few good men to learn a variety of yoga postures for strength and flexibility. Learn to stretch, breathe, relax, wind down, open up, recharge and re-energize, all in a supportive male environment. Discover for yourself the regenerating effects of this ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice. Beginners welcome!

You may call OPPD directly at Dole to register for a class: 708.848.7050. You can also register at the main office in person: 218 W. Madison Street, OP, or at Dole Center in person: 255 Augusta Street, OP. You can also register online at www.oakparkparks.com. From the Home Page, select "Programs", then "Adult Programming", and finally "Yoga" for a complete listing of yoga classes. You can then go back to the Registration page for an online option.
You must register for a full five-week session -- no drop-ins or single classes. BUT you may try out a class -- your first class is free if you contact Tom in advance at 708.366.8915.
The fee for a five-week session for an Oak Park resident is $47, and for a non-resident, $70. That's @ $9 or $14 per class, which is still the best deal in town.

At Loyola:
If you are a member of Loyola University Health Center in Maywood, Tom teaches a Beginning Class Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:30 am.
At Fitness Formula Club of Oak Park:
Tom now teaches six Yoga Classes weekly in this state-of-the-art facility: Monday – Wednesday – Friday 8:00 – 9:15 am, and for early birds, Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 – 7:00 am.
By popular demand from you early-bird yogis, There are now two 6 am classes on the schedule!
NEW!! FFC FRIDAY NIGHT VINYASA CLASS!
Tom is now teaching FFC's Friday night Vinyasa class from 6:00-7:15 pm. Join him! Challenge yourself!
Every Tuesday Tom teaches yoga to a great group of seniors at Mather’s Café, located at 3235 N. Central Avenue in Chicago. He affectionately refers to this as "My Seventeen Grandmothers" class. (There are one or two grandfathers in attendance also.) Chair Yoga is an hour-long class, from 10– 11 am. It is followed by a very Gentle Yoga class from 11 am – noon.
